Subject: Abiword 0.7.10 for FreeBSD (really a help question)

When I tried installing the package (.tgz format) it said I needed gtk-1.2.7
and png-1.0.5. Now my system's a bit out of date (okay, a lot) so I decided
to download these. I could only find gtk-1.2.8 and png-1.0.7. Being a Unix
newbie, I forsaw no reason these wouldn't work. However when I again tried
to install the package it still demanded the lower versions.
What can I do to make it work?
