The only file changed was src/config/abi_defs.mk

Committing some of the changes sent in by Michael D. Pritchett
(MPritchett@attglobal.net) that deal with building under cygwin >=
1.1.0.
This first commit only incorporates a small bit of the patch that
Michael sent.
I'll evaluate the rest of the patch and probably commit more later.
