A LOT of other Unix file managers use extensions as metadata.. for one,
XFtree, maybe KFM too.

I certainly use the extension as metadata. (I then know to launch Abi.)
If you're going to make it so that Abi doesn't automatically give you
the .abw extension, can an option be added to the prefernces to make
this a default?
