I was thinking that a method to "temporarily" disable cursor blinking might
make it easier for some of these other problems to be fixed. There are
probably a dozen reasons why it would be inappropriate to use a system
geared toward focus related issues in this way, but I figured I would throw
it out there anyway to see if it stuck.
