That also displays a real problem we have right now. What are we gonna do?
Are we gonna release 0.7.12 (if it turns out the others also think my
reasoning is correct) with a dialog that is potentially harming (i.e.
possibly loosing data) for users, are we to Q&D try to convert it to modal,
or are we to release it "as-is" with a big note "this won't work in these
cases, and if you try it: suit yourself"???

I request more comments on the modality of this one, but I think we're
facing a problem that would leave this dialog out (besides, it's not the end
of the world, we have enough stuff to validate a 0.7.12 release without this
dialog).

Since it turned out to possibly have serious problems, perhaps a 0.7.13
release containing it would be more appropriate (following the Linux way of
releasing "non-stable" releases have odd revisions.

Sam, this is your call as far as I'm concerned. I can still have a
(disfunctional within this discussed frame) version going within a day I
think. I'm however reluctant for the reasons now displayed, but if you deem
it OK I'll do the checkin(s).

/Mike
