I never counted the left-most 6 columns. Fortran used those for
comments/labels/contiuation marks :-)

But I use 80 column terminals too. I vote for assuming 80 columns,
otherwise I can't get as many Eterms on my 1600x1200 screen :-)

IDE's? Bah!
