Ouch. That went badly. Can you try building a binary on that system,
so that I can test it on parsons (where these were all built)? And
can someone else try these out (since Martin's computer has a history
of strange behavior).

Actually, the more worrisome problems are the GTK bugs, which could be
very bad, if they appear on other systems.

Please, test these people. I'm not sure what's happening here.
