Hi,

This concerns marketing development.

salon.com had an interesting article today on a compaign by Micro$oft against
public schools and the `sharing' of software.

http://salon.com/tech/feature/2001/07/10/microsoft_school/index.html

It just seems to me that this may be a ripe time to promote the nature of
the open source/multi-platform nature of AbiWord. Software companies have
known for long that if the kids learn your software, you have a built-in
market for years. Given the (I am sure) massive `piracy' of microsoft
products across the educational system and a multimillion $ liability, might
this be a good time to get some real promotion of the only word processing
that "Just Works" out to the educational systems of this country?

Chris Winne
