I paraphrase Dom:
> I want documents te be spell checked in en-US, even if the author write
them
> in en-GB. To me, en-GB is wrong, so the misspelled words shoulod be
marked
> as wrong.

I paraphrase Tomas:
> en-GB and en-US are different languages. AbiWord shouldn't try to spell
> check en-GB documents if it has only an en-US dictionary, and vice-versa.

[please forgive my paraphrasing - the quotes were getting overly long]

As a Brit, I have to agree with Tomas. I'd be annoyed if my documents were
spell-checked in American English, especially if this was done silently. If
someone really wants to 'correct' my document, they can switch the language
to en-US by themselves first.

I imagine that a user of American English would be equally annoyed if
British English users were so presumptuous as to have their word processors
mark American spellings in American English documents as 'wrong'
automatically (even if the British English users might think their
spellings are superior :-)

Jamie.
