Subject: Got the code, will do BeOS in morning

I did a CVS checkout of everything, and it all came across just fine. It took
a while as I just have a modem.
I'm compiling on Slackware Linux so I can make sure I know how to build it at
all and I have a good comparison for testing. I need to go to bed now as my
wife has sufferred through me staying up all night programming a few too many times.
If you can hold off tagging the tree until at least tomorrow afternoon I will
try to get AbiWord to run on the BeOS. I'll post patches to the list if I
have to make any.
I see that there are a few documents in the Abiword documentation and the wv
examples, so I can test with those, but I might suggest it would be helpful to
try to collect a very large number of documents in a variety of formats.
Maybe everyone could contribute their resumes or theses.
I emailed Patrick Volkerding and asked if he'd consider adding AbiWord 0.7.14
to Slackware 7.2, and he said he liked AbiWord a lot, but didn't think he'd be
able to as he's about to close his sourcebase for the upcoming release. I'm
going to try anyway by building a Slackware package on Slackware itself, and
providing a download for him to evaluate. But he'd have to integrate it into
his build system so even if we help out he may not have time.
Regards,
Mike Crawford
