    OK, I will keep looking... I have solved the TRANSFORM_TO_DOS_PATH
    problem by moving the source files "outside" of the CygWin file
    system.

    I have cleaned up all the environment variables junk from .NET, so I
    don't think it is the problem, but stranger things have been known to
    happen with MS software :-)

    I think I will try Andrew's suggestion and go looking for old
    backups...
