I don't think the EncodingManager and glyph remapping
are really related. Glyph remapping has more to do
with rendering. Though adding a wrapper to our iconv
to get it to do transliteration (as libiconv calls it)
might be part of the way to solve the problem if this
is what you're talking about. Libiconv has this built
in very well but for Linux and systems building with-
out libiconv I'm not sure what the solution would be.
