As a plugin. It's nowhere near done yet, but I hope to have it mostly
workable for western languages in a few days.
GnomePrint 2.0 can print to a series of GdkPixbufs and ideally we can
do something similar using ImageMagick in an XP manner too by
compositing Magick::Drawables. This will probably be a cool feature and
will close a few bugs in bugzilla. The backend is pretty flexible - you
queue listeners that get called whenever a page is finished drawing.
You could then save those to disk, create a multi-framed image (eg
GIF), ...
