I have a redhat 7.2 with ximian gnome (for the above result).
Executing those two commands provides similar (and valid) result? I
think Martin's using gnome-config --cflags (...) vfs or the
gnome-vfs-config --cflags, for instance.
I see that there is an #include "libgnomevfs/gnome-vfs.h"
in the file your build broken on.
I think that _maybe_ your (...)-config may be non existant or displaying
improper values, OR that the makefile assumes something wrong while
defining a -I somewhere.
