I personally like it. And I suspect I would be told to like it even more
if wearing my Red Hat. Having the font issue be dealt with at
installation time prevents (perceived) random behavior due to font stuff
changing when AbiWord starts/stops.
And getting this problem fixed before 1.0 would be doing ourselves a
favor, I think.
