I should have taken this up soner but it slipped mind at the
time.
Another way we can improve kword/Abiword interoperability is via copy &
paste via the X clipboard. To start with there appear to be some major
issues with qt prior 3.0 - but in principle these have been fixed I hope.
Right now abiword exports selected text to RTF and places this on the
X clipboard. We've tried very hard to get 100% perfect round trip
performance from our RTF import/exporters in part because we need this to
get cut/copy and paste within abiword to work seemlessly. So in principle
if kword could read and import RTF from the clipbaord it would be possible
to export complex rich text from abiword and paste it into kword.
Does kword do a similar thing for export to the X clipboard? Is this
something the kword developers would be interested in developing? What is
the current status of Kword's RTF support?
