    I refer to the Jargon file because it had the most connotative definition. If people were to allowed to push prejudice in the public, eventually many perfectly appropriate words become blasphemous. "Own" is a very interesting word to want, have you considered how it would translate awkwardly.

    As I've said, this discussion has more or less been concluded since 1998, and I really don't see a need restart what actually was a mailinglist/usenet/source code holywar. I will, however, footnote it, and that should sufficiently satisfactory.
