    Ar?
Sorry but I am unable to recognise most language codes or abreviations
unless you help by expanding them for me.

After much searching and confusion i eventually found out that Ar is for
Arabic (not Argentina as i had mistakenly geussed).

You have no idea how confusing this was, and how you could have saved me a
whole lot of time and having to rewrite this email if you had even once
mentioned Arabic in your entire email.

    from this post
    http://www.abisource.com/mailinglists/abiword-dev/01/June/0566.html
i can confirm that it is possible to mark text as being in the languages
you mention. that does not necessarily mean there are dictionaries
available. If there are dictionaries available, perhaps from you local
linux distribution we would be willinig to make sure they work with
    Abiword.

I cannot see any downloads for either of the locales you mention.
    http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=15518

You might have to try and use the dictionaries from the closest
available language, or perhaps your local linux distribution has
dictionaries that we could check to ensure they work correctly as Abiword
is quite strict about what dictionaries it accepts.

To the developers, the Abisource website allows me to view "All downlads
    for all platforms"
    http://abisource.com/download/index.phtml?all=1
    but not really all downloads
as i cannot seem to see all the available language packs, only the ones
specific to my platform unless i go to
    http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=15518
which is not mentioned or linked to from the downloadpages

I have forwarded this message to the developers hopefully some one will be
able to clarify or fix this.

Anyway, we are very glad to receive feedback from any users of the
Bidirectional Text system in AbiWord and even more glad to get feedback
from users of Arab languages. It is very hard to check these features
without expert help and we hope you will keep in contact.
I hope you would consider subscribing the User mailing list
    abiword-user@abisource.com

    Sincerely
