We are pleased to announce the release of libwpd 0.4.0. This
release marks a milestone in libwpd development: the library
now reads more files than ever before and does a much better
job doing so (even on the toughest-to-parse documents). libwpd
now supports lists/outlining, for structured presentation/editing
of hierarchical data.
We would like to thank everyone who sent in documents for testing:
your input helped us make this "the bestest libwpd ever".
Source and more information is available at http://libwpd.sf.net
Sincerely,
The libwpd maintainers: William Lachance and Marc Maurer
-- libwpd is a library designed to help in the process of interpreting WordPerfect documents. It is focused on the needs of next-generation word processors (such as AbiWord and OpenOffice.org's OpenWriter). libwpd is used in the development versions of AbiWord (what will become AbiWord 2.0). A stand-alone utility based on libwpd, wpd2sxw, is available now for converting WordPerfect documents to OpenOffice.org's XML-based file format (watch for an easily installable OpenOffice.org filter component soon). --Summary of changes in libwpd 0.4.0: - support for WordPerfect 6.0 files (Marc Maurer, William Lachance) - lists/outlines (William) - hyphens (a bit of a hack; but it'll do for now) (William) - make libwpd use the STL (William) - add an internal Unicode string class (William) - many bugfixes (William, Marc) Summary of changes in wpd2sxw 0.3.0: - lists/outlines (William) - fix style inheritance, margin issues with tables and paragraph styles (William) - set width of tables based on current document margin state (William) - don't set margins when the no. of columns in the current section > 0 (fixes a nasty bug) (William) -- William Lachance <william.lachance@sympatico.ca>
