For the first time I have an Xft2 build of CVS HEAD AbiWord up and running
    on Mac OS X.

What I have done is install AbiWord and all its dependencies in the prefix
    /Applications/AbiWord-2.0, including:

    AbiWord (CVS)
Aiksaurus (CVS, but GTK front-end broken)
    Xft2 & font-config (CVS XFree86)
    GTK-2.2 (CVS)

aspell-0.50.3, with English & Welsh (the latter purely for kicks)
    cabextract-0.6
    dlcompat-20021117
    expat-1.95.5
    freefont-ttf (Jan.'03)
    fribidi-0.10.4
    gettext-0.11.5
    libiconv-1.8
    libjpeg-6b
    libpng-1.2.5
    libxml2-2.4.29
    pkgconfig-0.14.0
    popt-1.7
    tiff-3.5.7

    Requires Jaguar & X11 (Apple's X11.app beta highly recommended).

    Disc space required: approx. 89MB
    Download size (tgz): approx. 28MB

Does need to be installed as /Applications/AbiWord-2.0 (it's not a
relocatable bundle like the XAbiWord-1.0.x releases - in fact, it's not
any kind of bundle...), has only the three fonts as default (but more can
be added) and the two dictionaries (but again more can be added) and
AbiWord itself isn't the most stable of applications at the moment, but:

    - with this installed it would be relatively easy to build CVS AbiWord
yourself and so keep up to date with development.

If there is significant demand for this then I'll upload it to
SourceForge. Until then, please contact me directly if you would like to
    download it.
