    Hi Dom,
It appears that gnome-vfs does not support the
full web-dav protocol as required by some CMS's. The
link provided by Paul is to a cross platform library
    that does fully support this.

I guess the right thing to do would be to fix
gnome-vfs so it does. However I have no expertise in
this at all so someone else would have to fix it.

However even after gnome-vfs is fixed, our windows and
(hopefully soon to be working) OS X ports would not be
of use as clients. So it occurred to me that maybe the
right thing would be to look at this library being the
defacto implementation of web-dav for us.

However I had no intention of slipping this into the
main tree by stealth. I merely want to write a
proof-of-concept plugin to "publish to web" that
pushes a document to a CMS.

I also need to find out a bit more of what these guys want to do with an
abiword CMS client. Are we meant to be used as a full WYSIWYG HTML editor?
Do we we inherit some sort of HTML template from the CMS and fill in content?

If it's the latter two things that are needed (which are not particularly
in the abiword vision) we need to be very clear about resource allocation.

    Cheers

    Martin
