    I just tried

            setenv LANG ms-MY.utf8
            abiword

with HEAD/unix/gtk2+ (with my mods as per
http://bugzilla.abisource.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4209) and I was able to see
tooltips and menu items in Bahasa. Boleh!

I wasn't able to get the gtk2+ stuff, such as the Cancel stock item, to show
in Bahasa, even when I established an ms locale and did:

            setenv LC_MESSAGES ms

There is still magic in getting Gtk2+ working that I don't understand.
