    sounds like a good idea. Have you got an idea of the shape of the
    rewrite that is required? After the transition to a win32 unicode build
    I'd like to look into what it would take to use pango on at least
    gtk/gnome and possibly win32 (if we end up using glib-2.0) (I'd assume
    that it isn't appropriate for MacOSX and QNX).
