uh... what clauses? AFAICT gettext is dual licensed with GPL/LGPL.
AbiWord is licensed with GPL, so we share the same clauses (modulo the
dual license).

The GPL FAQ is very helpful, the principle is that you can link your GPL
application with proprietary libraries if they are something that is
expected on the proprietary system.

It also says, in a different place, that if a program depends on a
non-Free library, than that program is by transitivity not Free
Software, since it is not available to the Free World.
