Why not using XPLC instead. Seriously that looks to me the obvious path
to
1/ provide a ABI for plugins
2/ provide C bindings to our C++ core
3/ provide whatever is done for other languagees
Basically XPLC is a lightweight cross-platform component model. Think of
a dlopen() on steroid WITH object oriented support. Perfect to provide C
++ linkage like we do for plugins.
