The key bindings need to be first of all consistent with the normal
conventions on each platform; there are few things more frustrating than
working with application that has some arbitrary bindings. While
consistency across platforms would be nice, it has to come second to the
platform conventions. Yes, it complicates life for those who use AW on
different platforms, but that's life, you cannot please everyone, and I
have no doubts that the latter group is singificantly smaller then those
who just run use one OS.
