Hi Martin,

about a year ago I mailed you about my style and grammar checker
"LanguageTool" and whether it could be integrated into Abiword. The only
idea we had was using gcj but neither of us knew how to make that work.

The good news is that the latest version of LanguageTool (0.8.5) now comes
with an embedded webserver so it can be used from basically any
programming language without writing wrappers etc. The user starts the
Java version of LanguageTool, and configures it to listen on a given port.
Other applications can now send their text to this port and get back a
simple XML. At least that's the idea.

LanguageTool is available at http://www.danielnaber.de/languagetool/

Embedded web server is described here:
http://www.danielnaber.de/languagetool/usage.html

Feel free to forward this to the appropriate Abiword list. I'm willing to
help anybody who'd like to make use of the new server mode in
LanguageTool.

Regards
 Daniel
