I think that option 1 is the one that make most sense. At that point we
shouldn't trying to waste time maintaining a port of obsolete OS. After
all if they didn't upgrade their OS they don't need to upgrade their
app... The man power on the non Linux version being the most rare
resource it is actually best to concentrate on getting the most out, and
at that point being Unicode is better.

Didn't we drop gtk 1.2 support? Don't we require MacOS X 10.2 which is
from circa 2002?
