libgsf error?

This is the error I'm getting when trying to run --to=html using the ms
word file:

(abiword:6158): libgsf:msole-CRITICAL **: ole_get_block: assertion
`block < ole->info->max_block' failed
ERROR: meta.c (179): wmf_header_read: this isn't a wmf file

I can convert the same ms word file to html using wvHtml
I can also convert this file to html using abiword --to=html only when I
don't have any plugins compiled.
in this case the embedded image from word doc is not extracted. So I
think the problem is somewhere in libwmf since it works fine without
extracting the image but does not work with it.

Any ideas what else to try?
