opendocument import strange issue

I just tried to convert a document created in openOffice 2 (in writer)
It has one image in it.

OpenDocument just includes the image in its zip file, no wmf as far as I
know.

So, usually it should be very easy to extract an image from
OpenDocument, however not so easy in abiword.

I tried /usr/local/bin/abiword --to=html /pathtomy/document.odt

and I got this error:

# wmf_header_read: this is not a wmf file
or something of than nature.

I sometimes get this error while importing ms word docs, which is
reasonable, but why for opendocument?
