Image preview ifdef'd out - why?

Hi everyone,
In CVS HEAD the code to implement image preview in the "insert
Image" dialog is ifdef'd out.

I've re-enabled if locally and it seems to work as well as ever.

Does anyone know the reason this code was removed?
