I know this hasn't been discussed wildely, but I really want us to stop
converting JPEG to PNG. This is a waste of time, memory and everything.
Also your case does not seem to take care of vector images, but that's
another complication. WMF and EMF are the two that comes to mind[1]

[1] I don't know about libwmf supporting EMF, that's a bit fuzzy.
