Hi Jean-Marc,

You told me last February that the bug related to UTF-8 support in the
interface menus on Windows is scheduled for the 2.9 series.
This bug is critical for our two langagues "Wolof (wo-SN)" and "Mandinka
(mnk-SN)".
Do you have an idea when the first 2.9 version could be released ?

I am really wondering how do langages like Vietnamese could be supported
in Abiword while the interface menus show completely inconsistent
strings due to this lack of UTF-8 support.
That's why I don't know if the problem is really in Abiword. Could it be
possible only to change the font used for the menus to something like
"Arial Unicode" for instance.
Wouldn't it simply just fix the problem? Or is it way more complicated
than that ?

I am just trying to figure out if I could help in some way to fix this bug.

Best regards,

Dominique
