Re: [GSoC] Reduce flicker project

Hi Andrei,

There are two components to the reduce flicker project I think. The
first would be fix to fix the drawing selection code so that
characters stop "dancing" by one pixel during selections. Uwog has a
lot of code for that already but it needs to be finished and polished.
After that is done, I think it would be worth looking at reducing
flicker.

Speaking personally I would rather have the flicker and dancing
character projects completed rather than the large documents, since I
rarely work with documents of greater than 50 pages in a word
processor. However as I said to Robin, Open Source coding is mostly
about going with your passion since what we'd really like are long
term contributors who'll continue to be part of the community after
GSoC is over.

That will only happen if you find what you're doing intimately fun and
interesting. So choose the project that most appeals to you. The ideas
are what we have come up with. If there are other things you'd like to
fix or implement, propose them to us.

I'll post a collection of useful bugs for students to practice on shortly.

Cheers

Martin
