go for it. i put it in as a temporary measure while we
are in a source-only aka pre-binary-build stage (and
until we get the layout of the system files (fonts,
dictionaries, etc.) figured out.
once we get to the point where we're ready to start
cutting binary releases (with installers and all the
packaging figured out), i'll remove it....
