Yep. Screw cases suck, but you've gotta handle them somehow. Unless you've
got a proposal which clearly works better enough to be worth breaking
compatibility, we may as well be consistent. Fortunately, in cases like
this, people are unlikely to author content with this (particular) problem.

To put it another way, if the document looks bad in Word, it should look
just as bad here. :-(
