One *advantage* of being an Open Source project is getting bug reports from
all over the world. Someone recently sent me an MSWord doc which crashes
AbiWord, and I did a little investigation, and tracked it down.
If you define a style in MSWord, one options is to change the font family
only, and not define an exact point size. (You can change other items too,
such as color, but that's irrelevent to this bug report). Now, when
AbiWord tries to open it, wv calls ut_units to try and figure out what the
units of the font size are. Of course, there aren't any, so the ASSERT at
line 212 goes off since no units could be found.
I am not sure what side of the fence this lands on. I have created a 3
line Word doc that illustrates the problem and will send it to both Caolan
and Justin. If anybody else wants to fix this, let me know and I will send
you the file as well.
