The problem is the png package(s) installed on the system.
The problem is that the png that comes in ifl_{eoe,dev}.sw.c++ is an older
version.
The safe bet is to install either 1) the libpng/zlib that comes from abi
or 2) install the freeware tardist package from SGI.
The next hurdle to tackle is the byte-swapping issue of the spelling
dictionaries. The hash files are getting some funky sort of byte swapping
that I've not had a chance to look into due to my other life :-)
I also know that I've not been able to substitute in the ispell
dictionaries from the SGI tardists and get things to work...
cheers,
