BeBook suggests that this may be doable.

At least in that version (4.5?) the BTextControl's associated BTextView has
methods -- SetStylable() and SetFontAndColor() -- which allow color control
to happen. I have no idea how much work this is, or whether it works in
other versions we've been supporting (3.x or 4.0), but it's a starting
place.
