in need to have portuguese support for abiword, I did the portuguese hash=
from the .dic and .aff file avaiable from http://www.di.uminho.pt/~jj/pln/=
UMportugues.tgz
I did: buildhash portuguese.dic portuguese.aff portuguese.hash
Then I copied it to the ispell directory (silly me), and as it didn't work=
ed, I found out that it was in abiword's shared directory.
One small problem though... I defined the following scheme to use by defau=
lt:

SpellCheckWordList=3D"portuguese.hash"

Then I saved it (:wq) and loaded abiword.
I typed "Ol=E1" (hello) and as expected no error.. then I typed "aisdh ais=
hdiasdh as=AA" which is definetly not a portuguese word, but did not have r=
ed squigly lines. OOPS...
Then I exitd abiword.
I found the terminal had the following message which explained one of the =
"why, my god" questions that flowed through my mind: "Can't open /usr/share=
/abisuite/dictionary/portuguese.hash"
ok... probably a permissions problem... only...

fantabulastic, I said, now what? I searched the mailing list for help, but =
found nothing which could help me.
This problem might be pertinent to other language speaking users other than=
portuguese, of course...
So... Does anyone have a suggestion?
