Strange "file open" error message

I just build abi from the CVS and tried to open a file.
Funny thing is that if you type the name of a file that
does not exist (like NOT_A_FILE) into the file open
dialog and then press OK, it will happily close the
dialog and try to open a document. Then it brings
up a little error dialog that says:

"Error importing NOT_A_FILE"

This is really confusing to say the least. Perhaps the
person just mistyped the name of the file. They would
get an error message that would just confuse them more.
If the file does not exist then the dialog should not
allow the person to press the OK button.
