Aaron,

  I think that Thomas was just poking fun at the fact that
this change seemed to be fairly gratuitous in nature in the
first place. The problem is that when you changed the files
to go from whatever compression to no compression, you
didn't change all of the distribution scripts, which were
explicitly looking for a .zip hash file. Not a personal
jab or anything, but for changes like this doing a

find /root/of/abitree | xargs grep "THING THAT CHANGES"

goes a long way to working out oversights like this.
