Are you opening them with a debug version of AbiWord?
If so, libwv churns out the debug info and contributes massively to the
load time. Piping the output to a file can dramatically increase the load
time.

But, regardless, that's much too long of a load time. It's possible there
are some processing errors. Sometimes strange undocumented fields trip the
importer up and cause it to do really stupid things, like try to read a couple
nonexistent gigabytes from the file.

If you want to send me the file, I'll take a look at it some time and see
if there's anything strange going on.

In an ideal world, we shouldn't need it, as the document would load
reasonable fast. In the meantime, some kind of dialog would be fine with
me.
