First, I want to compliment sam for putting this list together.

In my view, fields are the major missing piece at this point. With Paul
Rohr's new fields implementation, page numbers and lists will be easier to
do, and should wrap up the major new features between here and 1.0.
Anything else should be heavily scrutinized. For example, I am in total
agreement with Paul regarding normal mode. Let's hope Boris and Natasha
get good and ripe before coming out.

I have shipped a lot of products, both good and bad. The recent work has
really inspired my confidence that 1.0 is going to be a quality product.
The biggest factor in determining whether a product will meet or exceed the
quality expectation of the user has always been how many iterations the
code went through.

No kidding. The more releases with a feature in place, the more time
people have to find bugs, get them fixed, find the new set of bugs, get
those fixed, and so on. That is why when 0.9.0 comes, I will start being a
major advocate for no more feature additions. I would also imagine the .01
releases will start coming more fast and furious at that point as well.

In preparation for such, Paul Egli and myself have started revisiting all
OPEN bugzilla bugs. There are quite a few there, and we can POSTPONE many
of them, but there is a lot of work still there. As always, I will help in
whatever way I can.
