I was checking out the new modeless "Insert Symbol" and I could not break
it. I did however find another bug with "Insert Symbol" that was totally
unrelated to its state of modality. If you try to replace highlighted text
with a symbol, it uses the font of the text that was originally
highlighted. So if you were trying to replace text that was in Times New
Roman with a symbol from Wingdings, the Wingdings symbol that you selected
would not appear, but rather the character's equivalent from Times New
Roman. It also takes 3 undo commands to undo the insert, at least one of
which involves changing the font. I have opened this as bug #861.
