I have no idea how that particular configure script would have panned out under
windows, but configure does work quite well in general under cygwin32, auto*
made porting a few things to windows absolutely trivial, just configure and
make, perhaps adding a new test or two. (got support for platforms like vax and
amigaos as well). Catch is that for the nongnu toolchain windows and macintosh
folk I imagine that there'd have to be makefiles and custom setups anyway ?
