What about changing the extension of the file saved by
the segfault handler (something as
"filename.abw.SEGFAULTED")?

It should do it pretty visible.

I like Mike's idea of prefixing file names of
autosaved files instead of suffixing them, but I think
that users are very used to .bak (or "~" for linux
users), and changing it now would create some
confusion...

cvs is in a semi-working state here (it seems that my
ISP is badly broken...), so if I can not commit I will
post a patch.
