I'm going to start adding the basic support needed
for Marshallese to head so that a dictionary can be
added easily. Luckily there are ISO language codes.
Unfortunately, there is no 8-bit encoding which will
support the language since it has some very rare
characters. The ones I know about are a with macron,
o with macron, o with cedilla, and m with cedilla.
I'm attaching a sample file I just made so you can
test it in AbiWord.
You'll see that the macrons are fine if you have a
capable font, but the cedillas don't work even with
a good font such as Arial Unicode MS or Code2000.
This is because combining characters must be used for
the cedilla since Unicode has no precombined forms
for o with cedilla or m with cedilla.
I'll make up a bug report. Can somebody test these
files with Xft etc and let me know how it goes.
