Bingo. Sounds like you've got your scope for src/draw. Now you just need a
volunteer to rough out a GUI for that, after taking a peek at how it
compares to the simple drawing functionality shipped with comparable
products. For example, I expect that all three of the following suites ship
with some sort of lightweight draw component:

  - Office
  - ClarisWorks
  - StarOffice / OpenOffice

On a related note, if you're looking for a way to narrow the scope of the
src/svg component, I'll reiterate my usual suggestion:
