If you did everything right and the yo-NG.strings file is not loading and
displaying properly, it could very well be mal-formed XML. I had this
trouble when I copied menu strings into the .string files. For example
ID="" will fail (use ID=" ") or ID="&ABC" will fail (use ID="&ABC").
There are other pitfalls.

If you like you can send me the .strings file and I will be happy to test
it quickly. A debug version of Abiword will spit out a message indicating
where the failure occurs in the .strings file during loading.
